Attitude Affects Chances of Employment

The world's Top 500 enterprises scramble for talent at Nanjing's renowned universities.

The difficulty university graduates experience finding jobs has been a hot topic in recent years. A possible reason for this could be one of attitude. The wrong attitude and approach on the part of students who have found employment negatively influence the chances of newly graduate applicants.

"What employers look for is a positive, motivated attitude," says Chen Kai, HR director of Panasonic China. "This is just what today's graduates lack." Chen says that today's university graduates consider themselves qualified for anything, and will go after top positions when starting at a company. According to Duan Dong, HR director of www.sina.com, graduates are eager to make money, and the level of salary carries most weight when it comes to choosing a job. Other problems that arise are poor communication with colleagues, and sucking up to the boss.
