World Heritage Conference in Suzhou

From June 28 to July 7, 2004, the 28th World Heritage Conference will be held in Suzhou City in eastern China's Jiangsu Province. This will mark the first time the Chinese government hosts the UNESCO World Heritage Committee's highest-ranking international conference. Five hundred representatives from nearly 100 countries will participate.

The 27 conference agendas include examining and approving new world heritage sites, discussing global strategy for world heritage, evaluating protection and management of heritage sites in various countries, and promoting international cooperation. A world heritage exhibition will also be held during the conference.
