Flesh-eating Fish Routed out

Piranhas undergo euthanasia.

An emergency notice has been issued by fishery departments, demanding confiscation and extermination of all piranha sold on the market, and kept in aquariums and zoos. It prohibits setting them free in natural waters as this would result in decimation of China's aqua-environment.

The piranha is from South America, and its razor sharp teeth can render humans and animals into skeletons in minutes. It was brought into China a few years ago, and traded as an aquarium fish. Now efforts have been made across the country to rout out this predatory fish so as to prevent it from finding its way into natural waters.
