Gentler Police Policies in Nanjing

A lighter touch seems to be the policy for police in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Upon arresting a suspect, the police now shield that person's handcuffs from sight. This is also the policy of the Nanjing traffic police. The new regulations stipulate that the towing away of automobiles violating parking rules, be replaced by posting a notice. The fine quota has been cancelled, and policies call for police to be more personable.
