The new Chinese leadership plans to review
61 draft laws in the Third Plenary Session of the Sixteenth
CPC central committee in October 2003. Included will be 30 business
and economic laws, including the State Assets, Bankruptcy, Anti-Monopoly,
People's Bank, and Company and Securities Laws. Discussions
will also be held on constitutional amendments, indicating that
the central government is determined to set up a complete legislative
network for market economy development. These measures will
help to legalize the Chinese market following China's WTO accession.
