Uninhabited Islands Set for Individual Development

Survival training on isolated island is a popular tourism activity in China.

China has issued its first Island Rules allowing individuals to apply to develop and use uninhabited islands. The longest utilization period is 50 years, and applicants must abide by related regulations regarding protection of natural resources on islands and making scientific plans for their development. Marine and fishing departments of Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces have received some consultation calls on island renting since the rules were announced. A large number of people have expressed interest in becoming island owners.
