Unemployment Rises

In June this year the rate of registered unemployment in China's cities and towns reached 4.2 percent, a 0.2 percent increase representing 7,950,000 people. A total of 4,410,000 people now receive unemployment benefit, an increase of 720,000 over the same period last year.
