National Scientific Knowledge Plan

The China Association for Science and Technology recently announced that a national science plan is to be implemented by the end of the year. The plan aims at helping all Chinese citizens over the age of 18 attain a standard level of scientific knowledge by the year 2049 -- the 100th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic. The association is now mobilizing experts to work out graded criteria for scientific knowledge in three aspects: scientific knowledge, a scientific view of the world, and competence in scientific exploration and technological operation.
