Advantages of the Digital Edition

I was happy to see an article from the former China Reconstructs in the May issue of China Today. Thank you for taking up my suggestion.

Since learning how to surf the internet, I have searched for the China Today website, and finally found it through a link with CRI (China Radio International). I have maintained a close relationship with CRI for many years, and now have your website in my yahoogroup.

Your digital version has numerous advantages, and is bound to bring you a greater readership by making the magazine more accessible than through the printed edition's sales network. Formerly Heidelberg railway station was the only place where I could buy China Today, but now I can read it on the internet, which is fantastic.

An International Magazine

I am happy to note the number of interesting articles in China Today, such as those on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and ancient Chinese culture. Would it be possible for you to invite contributions by professors at the TCM academy or art institute? I firmly believe your group will become stronger and stronger, and that China Today will in the near future improve its reputation further, both at home and abroad.

As an international magazine, China Today is a window through which foreigners may gain a better understanding of China. Would you please publish articles about Sun Zi's Art of War and Taoism?

More Information About China

Your magazine is both interesting and educative. I like its pictures, and the way they depict so beautifully the theme of the articles. The English is also easy to understand.

I am interested in the following topics:

China's fishing industry and fish farming.

China's agricultural sector, particularly crop cultivation and animal husbandry, as well as agricultural mechanization.

Illustrations of China's art and crafts.

A diagrammatic illustration of attractive tourist sites in China, as well as computer technology and telecommunications.

Peace and Friendship

When I read China Today, I get the feeling that I have the world at my fingertips. The layout is very attractive, especially on themes such as Chinese agriculture and defense. It gives me great pleasure to express my feelings about China Today and about the way it connects peoples separated by vast oceans. Your magazine gives them a better understanding of Chinese civilization, and furthermore, helps establish close friendships between the Chinese and other nations of the world.

I believe in friendship as it is the basis for a peaceful life, and helps to unite people of different countries, even those at war.

Improvement in Design

I like reading your articles on science and technology, and medical research. I also like the pictures of China's natural scenery, as there are so many beautiful landscapes in China.

I would like to read about China's position in the world economy. The Chinese economy has now reached a developed stage, which is mainly attributable to the reform and opening up policy adopted by the Chinese government. Currently, China is an economically strong country.

Your magazine is of a high quality; the articles and color pictures are wonderful. One shortcoming I would point out is that there has been little improvement in the design, which I suggest you look into.

In order to let readers have a better understanding of preparations for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, I suggest you publish relevant articles in each issue.
