China Today (formerly China Reconstructs), an illustrated general-interest monthly, was founded in 1952 by Soong Ching-Ling (Mme Sun Yat-sen), the late Honorary President of the People's Republic of China. It is published in English, French, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese, and is distributed in more than 150 countries. It has the largest foreign circulation of any Chinese multi-language periodical.
China Today is a thorough, objective and informative magazine with attractive photographs and lively articles. It reports on China's political, economic, social and cultural scenes, bridges the Taiwan Straits through exchanges, promotes communications between the mainland and overseas Chinese and compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and prints information on global cultural exchange to promote friendship and understanding.
