ON its 50th anniversary, the staff of China Today review the half a century that their magazine covers. Named China Reconstructs in 1952 and renamed China Today in 1990 according to the wish of its late founder Soong Ching Ling, this magazine has always been in sync with the rhythm of China, presenting China's construction achievements from a special, true-to-life perspective. Looking through back issues over the past 50 years is like rolling down a scrolled record of the course of development of the People's Republic.
